The Czech Membrane Platform (CZEMP) associates prominent experts and institutions focused on research, development, implementation and application of membrane operations in technological processes of broad spectrum of industry. Hence, the development of the founded Platform is a prerequisite for the interconnection of research and educational subjects with production sphere and other institutions, which are engaged in technologies aiming at a sustainable growth of society.

Workshop of Student Presentations´ 2026

The Workshop of Student Presentations´ 2026 will take place on 5 November 2026 at the Membrane Innovation Centre of MemBrain Ltd. in Stráž pod Ralskem. The event will provide a platform for presenting bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral projects, as well as for sharing research results of young professionals. It builds on previous successful editions, which brought dozens of inspiring contributions and opened discussions on modern technologies for wastewater treatment and recycling – a topic of growing importance for both industry and academia.

Announcement of the winner of the MEMBRANE DAY 2026 student competition in the Czech Republic

The European Membrane Society has designated 14 April as Membrane Day. This day was established to honour the memory and legacy of the late Professor Enrico Drioli, and coincides with his birthday. Professor Drioli was a leading expert on membranes and was involved in research teams, institutions, projects, non-profit educational organisations, evaluation committees, editorial boards, scientific advisory boards, conferences, workshops, forums and schools.
Given our long-standing collaboration with Professor Drioli at MELPRO conferences, we were delighted to participate in this initiative. In the autumn, we announced a student competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying membrane technologies at Czech universities. The papers were evaluated by an expert committee consisting of: Prof. Ing. Karel Friess, Ph.D. (committee chair), Prof. Ing. Petr Mikulášek, CSc, Prof. Eric Favre and Ing. Lukáš Dvořák, Ph.D., Ing. Marek Šír, Ph.D.

Sad news

It is with great sadness that we have received the news of the passing of Professor Enrico Drioli, who was an icon of the membrane community and our long-time collaborator.
 
His passing is a great loss, but his approach remains a motivation for our future work and his work an inspiration for future membranologists.

MELPRO 2022 – Conference review

MELPRO 2022

We are glad that the 6th conference MELPRO 2022 was held personally and we were able to welcome all 151 participants from 25 countries in Prague again. The conference took place in the hotel International and there were 91 lectures and 29 posters presented in three parallel sections. The Gala dinner was held at the former wastewater treatment plant with a tour, which included a visit to the underground operations building, where we learnt about the history of sewerage and wastewater treatment. One floor above, in the steam engine room, still-functional pump units from 1903 were seen and put into operation.
