The Czech Membrane Platform (CZEMP) associates prominent experts and institutions focused on research, development, implementation and application of membrane operations in technological processes of broad spectrum of industry. Hence, the development of the founded Platform is a prerequisite for the interconnection of research and educational subjects with production sphere and other institutions, which are engaged in technologies aiming at a sustainable growth of society.

Czech membrane platform has become the organizer of the next EUROMEMBRANE conference in 2024 and it will be held in Prague in September 8-12, 2024.

MELPRO 2022 – Conference review

MELPRO 2022

We are glad that the 6th conference MELPRO 2022 was held personally and we were able to welcome all 151 participants from 25 countries in Prague again. The conference took place in the hotel International and there were 91 lectures and 29 posters presented in three parallel sections. The Gala dinner was held at the former wastewater treatment plant with a tour, which included a visit to the underground operations building, where we learnt about the history of sewerage and wastewater treatment. One floor above, in the steam engine room, still-functional pump units from 1903 were seen and put into operation.

Workshop of Students' Presentations 2022

The Workshop of Students' Presentations will be held in Membrane Innovation Centre in Straz pod Ralskem in October 20, 2022. 

Technologies in the Environmental Protection is the topic of the workshop, the main goal of this annual activity is to support students in their scientific and research activities and to introduce them to other possibilities of self-realization. The event offers students of bachelor's, master's and doctoral studies the opportunity to present the results of their work to a professional audience. The main topic of the workshop is membranes and membrane processes, which are referred to in professional circles as 21st century technology. The focus of the workshop will also be on technologies for the treatment and recycling of industrial and wastewater.

We are pleased to invite you to this event and do not hesitate to register HERE. If you are interested in active participation at the workshop, please use enclosed template and send an abstract of your lecture or poster to the address conference@czemp.cz by September 12, 2022.

MELPRO 2022 - updates

We would like to inform you that the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE for the Conference MELPRO 2022 (September 18–21, 2022, Prague, Czech Republic) is EXTENDED till July 20, 2022.

MDPI – Membranes – will set up the Special Issue and it will include selected papers presented at the MELPRO 2022 conference. The deadline for manuscripts submission is January 31, 2023.  

The 2021 citation metrics have been released in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), and we are pleased to announce the following results for MDPI Journal Membranes:

Impact Factor for Yournal Membranes  is 4.562

MELPRO 2022 - register for the conference

We would like to invite you to the international conference MELPRO 2022. The conference will be held in the premises of Hotel International in Prague, Czech Republic in September, 18 – 21, 2022.

Two years ago, the conference was held online and we look forward to meeting and sharing the experiences in person this year.

Due to the fact that the MELPRO 2022 conference is a special occasion, the organizers ensured the operation of the steam engines during the tour for the conference participants.

Special Issue "Troubleshooting of Membrane Processes in Real Operation " – Paper Invitation

Dear all,

In collaboration with Membranes (ISSN 2077-0375), I want to cordially invite you to contribute an original research or a review article on the subject.

The topic aims to address real, common, daily, and general problems with keeping membrane technology in the operation. It is wide topic, advancing people with real experience in membrane and (but not limited to) the water treatment industry. The area includes avoiding membrane scaling, avoiding piping corrosion, sealing modules, avoiding membrane fouling, ion concentration polarization, parasitic currents, inappropriate sealing, development of spacers, problems with pretreatment, problems with endplates in electromembrane processes, gasketing, and Clean in Place.
